What we publish, and who we publish

MyHomeImpro is read by homeowners in the middle of a decision — pricing a kitchen, choosing between vinyl and laminate, working out whether a loft conversion pays for itself, or trying to keep a balcony garden alive through a hot summer. They arrive from search, they read to the end, and they are close to spending money.

That means we care about one thing above all: whether your article actually helps that reader. We accept contributions from designers, architects, contractors, landscapers, estate agents, product specialists, and experienced writers who research properly. We are equally happy to publish a first-time contributor with genuine hands-on knowledge and to reject a polished agency draft that says nothing specific.

Every accepted post gets a named byline, an author bio box with your photo and social links, a dedicated author archive page, internal links from related articles, and a share to our social channels.

Topics we accept

Your article has to fit one of these eight sections. Pitches that do not belong in any of them are declined, however well written they are.

Home Improvement

Practical repair, renovation and upgrade guides that make your house work harder for you.

Interior

Interior design ideas, colour schemes and layout thinking for every room in the home.

Garden

Gardening, landscaping and outdoor living — from balcony pots to full backyard makeovers.

Decorations

Seasonal decor, wall styling and finishing touches that give a room its personality.

Furniture

Buying guides, care tips and space-saving furniture picks for real-world homes.

Kitchen

Kitchen remodels, storage systems, worktops, appliances and modular layout advice.

Real Estate

Buying, selling, renting and investing — plus the improvements that actually add value.

Flooring

Tile, wood, vinyl, laminate and stone — costs, comparisons and installation know-how.

Guest posting guidelines

Read these before you write. Almost every rejection we send is for something on the right-hand list.

What gets accepted

  • Original and unpublished. Anything already live on another website will not be approved. We check.
  • Exclusive to us once live. Content published here cannot be submitted anywhere else. If it appears elsewhere, our moderators remove it immediately.
  • Niche specific and to the point. Stay inside architecture, interiors, home improvement, outdoor design and DIY. No warm-up paragraphs.
  • A minimum of 500+ words. 1,200–1,800 words performs best in search and is what we prefer to receive.
  • Images, properly credited. Include images and mention the credit for each one so there is no copyright issue. Your own photos are always preferred.
  • Structure a reader can scan. H2 and H3 subheadings, short paragraphs, lists where they help.
  • Specifics. Real costs, measurements, material names, timelines. Link a source for every statistic you quote.
  • A short author bio. 40–60 words, a headshot, and your social profile links.

What gets rejected

  • Excessive keywords. Repeating a target phrase until the sentence stops sounding human is an instant decline.
  • Republished or spun content. Including lightly reworded versions of something already indexed.
  • AI filler. Generic text with no first-hand detail, no opinion and nothing a reader could act on.
  • Thin link carriers. Short articles written purely to hold a backlink, or more links than the piece can justify.
  • Uncredited images. Anything pulled from a search results page without a licence or a credit.
  • Off-topic pitches. If it does not fit one of our eight categories, it is not for us.
  • Disguised competitor promotion. A sales page with subheadings is still a sales page.
  • Restricted niches. Casino, adult, crypto, pharmacy, loans and anything promoting illegal services — at any price.

Why publish here

Permanent do-follow placement

Your article stays live permanently with a contextual do-follow link in the body. We do not quietly strip links or move posts to a hidden folder six months later.

A genuinely relevant audience

Readers arrive from search looking for renovation costs, product comparisons and how-to guidance — people at the point of spending money on their homes.

Real editorial review

We edit every submission for structure, clarity and accuracy before it goes live. That is why the site keeps ranking — and why your link keeps its value.

Fast, predictable turnaround

Approved drafts are usually live within 24–48 hours. You get the live URL as soon as it publishes — no chasing required.

Full author credit

A proper byline, an author bio box with your photo and social links, and your own author archive page that collects everything you publish with us.

Promotion included

Every published post is shared to our social channels and picked up by internal links from related articles already ranking on the site.

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept free guest posts?

Occasionally, yes — when the article is exceptional and comes from someone with real hands-on expertise. Editing, formatting and hosting cost us time either way, so most placements are paid. Pitch it and we will tell you honestly which bucket yours falls into.

What is the minimum word count?

500 words is the hard minimum. In practice, 1,200 to 1,800 words is where articles start ranking and holding a reader, so that is what we would rather receive.

Are the links do-follow?

Yes. Contextual body links in guest and sponsored posts are do-follow and stay that way. We do not convert them to no-follow after publication.

How long does the post stay live?

Permanently. The only exceptions are content that breaks the law, becomes badly outdated, or points to a site that later turns malicious — and we contact you first in every one of those cases.

Can I republish the article on my own blog?

No. Once it is published here it is exclusive to us. Duplicating it elsewhere damages the ranking of both copies, and our moderators remove the post if it appears on another site.

Do I need to supply images?

Yes, and each one needs a credit — your own photographs, or properly licensed images with the source noted. This is the single most common reason a draft gets sent back to a contributor.

Can you write the article for me?

Yes — that is the Sponsored option. Send us the brief, the target keyword and the link, and our editorial team writes, edits and publishes it.

How quickly will you reply, and how do I pay?

We respond to pitches within two working days, and publish within 24–48 hours of approving the final draft. Payment is by bank transfer, UPI or PayPal, invoiced only once a slot is confirmed.
